Hiring Criteria (must meet at least one of the following)
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 credits per semester)

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with relevant experience in a preschool program

*These fields of study must include at least 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.


Overview
As a Teaching Assistant at Happy Maryann Day School, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a stimulating, safe, and nurturing classroom environment for young learners. You will help guide children’s early development and assist with daily classroom activities while promoting positive learning experiences for all students.


Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.

Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.

Support daily classroom routines including snack time, nap time, playtime, and transitions.

Supervise children during classroom activities, indoor play, and outdoor play.

Observe children's behavior and development and report important observations to the Lead Teacher.

Assist with classroom preparation, materials organization, and cleanup.

Support children with social, emotional, and developmental needs.

Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records as required.

Follow DOHMH health, safety, and licensing standards, including maintaining a clean classroom.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure a positive learning environment.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
